Tom Cosic is a software engineer and program manager who has led the development of a number of bioanalytical instruments and robotic technologies used in cutting-edge medical research. Over the past 10 years, Tom has been based in Melbourne, working for Melbourne software company Hydrix and the design engineering firm Invetech, where he led teams of up to 50 people in the delivery of FDA-approved in vitro diagnostic devices.
Tom is well versed in LBT’s core APAS® technology, having coordinated the commercial development of the ground-breaking plate-screening technology at Hydrix in 2013-14. He is now in charge of overseeing the APAS development program for our company, including product innovations and line extensions with the capability to extend the technology’s reach and relevance in the global marketplace.

Julie has over 30 years’ experience in the life sciences industry. This includes 20 years’ experience with a pharmaceutical manufacturing company, FH Faulding, and 10 years with SeerPharma as GMP consultant. While in industry, Julie held technical and project management roles across research and development, including technology transfer to routine manufacture, as well as management positions within IT. These roles also involved her in clinical trials work and submissions to regulatory authorities. As a senior GMP consultant Julie worked with multiple organisations in computer systems validation and in the design and implementation of Quality Management Systems to international and local standards.
Julie brings experience in the product development lifecycle and the subsequent transition to commercial manufacture.

Peter Bradley has over 30 years’ experience in medical science and drug and diagnostic product development, and the commercialisation expertise to get innovations to market. With a career spanning laboratory medicine, the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology and consulting, he has broad experience in business development, research management, technology commercialisation, and sales and marketing.
Peter was most recently Managing Director of Qatalyst BioConsulting, offering strategic and business development advice to biotech companies in Australia and New Zealand, and regional assistance to US-based companies. He previously served as Managing Director of KODE Biotech and as Head of Product Development and Regulatory Affairs at CSL Limited’s Bioscience Division, where he helped to secure significant licensing deals for Australia’s largest biopharmaceutical firm.

Rhys is the principal developer of the Automated Plate Assessment System, which he invented with LBT’s former Scientific Director, John Glasson, while working for the Australian Centre for Visual Technologies – a world-class artificial intelligence research team within the University of Adelaide. At LBT, Rhys leads research initiatives that deliver the technical capability to support LBT’s strategic product development pipeline. As well as developing the technology, he also works with LBT’s various research partners to direct research development activities.
Rhys has experience in a range of different computer vision technologies, from machine learning to structure-from-motion, and has been involved in the transfer of many research products into commercial entities in the past.
Rhys lives in Adelaide with his wife Diana and their four children, in a perpetual state of “blissful chaos.”

Steven has more than 20 years’ experience in microbiology, and has been instrumental in the development of new and rapid technologies. He has led several large infectious diseases laboratories and has guided the implementation of automated systems and workflows into high-throughput laboratories.
At LBT, Steven is responsible for the scientific strategy and ongoing management across a variety of projects, as well as representing the company as a domain expert in professional forums. He also acts as an interface between industry and research activities in order to explore and foster commercial activities.
In his spare time, you are likely to find Steve fishing, listening to live music, or enjoying the great outdoors.

Vaughan has over 40 years of experience as a senior engineer in product development, covering a variety of engineering disciplines. He has been the architect of multiple generations of scientific instruments and a family of industrial instruments while working for companies in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.
Vaughan heads up LBT’s engineering department and is responsible for ensuring that products in development meet the precise engineering requirements defined by the customer. Having worked on APAS® product development over the past five years, he has an in-depth knowledge of LBT’s core imaging and interpretive software platform, and has been leading the specific systems engineering activities relating to this project.
When not working, Vaughan enjoys walking in the Australian bush, watching cricket and listening to classical music.

Lusia Guthrie has over 30 years’ experience in the pathology laboratory and pharmaceutical industries. After launching her career as a medical laboratory scientist, she spent 13 years in various managerial roles at the pharmaceutical company, FH Faulding & Co, before co-founding LBT Innovations in 2004. She has broad executive and management experience, with specific expertise in product development, production and supply chain management, industrial relations, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property management.
Lusia has previously served on the Manufacturing Consultative Council for the Government of South Australia, the Commonwealth Government’s Future Manufacturing Industry Innovation Council, and the Assessment Panel for the Medical Device Commercialisation Program at the SA Department of Trade and Economic Development.
She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and currently serves on the AusMedtech Council, the Ausbiotech Medical Devices Advisory Committee, and the ACVT Industry Advisory Panel at the University of Adelaide.

Ray Ridge has held senior management positions in finance, compliance and commerce across a range of industries. Ray is currently CFO and Company Secretary for dual ASX and AIM listed Thor Mining PLC, CFO and Company Secretary for ASX Listed RHS Limited, and CFO for ASX Listed Southern Gold Ltd.
Ray has broad corporate experience including previous appointments as General Manager Commercial & Operations for one of the two national business divisions within Parsons Brinckerhoff Australia, CFO of the Merchandise Division of Elders Ltd and Senior Audit Manager at Arthur Andersen.
